I got the automated litterbox a few months ago, and the cats have been
fascinated by it.  Mischief and Mayhem use it regularly but, Imp has
been a little wary.

However, I think he's starting to use it.  But he's still weirded out
by the automated rake and the Whirring noises

Because five minutes ago i heard the box whirring and turned around to
see the rake moving across the litter and Imp was sitting RIGHT in
front, staring at it very intently.

Then as the rake came closer and lifted the lid of the container.  Imp
started a little and then suddenly WHACKED the lid that was seemingly
rising on its own.  Apparently he was spooked by the MONSTER that was
in the box

I had to grit my teeth to keep from laughing.  Imp watched as the rake
returned to it's starting point and then slowly walked away.

hehehe,

LOL, that must have been cute to watch.

But I still don't understand why they don't have a manual button on
these machines. You could just come by and press the button when you
notice the litterbox has been used, and when there are NO CATS AROUND
to get spooked! You'd still be saved the chore of scooping it yourself,
but your cats wouldn't even know the difference between that and a
regular litterbox.

THAT would be a GREAT idea.

there is a switch you could set it to do it just that way if you wanted,
Lee, who always does the switch before emptying it

Hmm. Sanitation and entertainment in one fell swoop.
