IM IN UR BASKETZ

I did a big load of laundry yesterday, resulting in a big loaded
laundry basket.  Of course, the first time I took my eye off the
basket, I turned back and found Dante goofily perched on top of the
pile of clean clothes, and I swear to Bast, grinning like a Cheshire
cat.   :0  Yes, IM IN UR BASKETZ SHEDDIN ON UR CLOZE.

Dante's aura of smugness and sheer glee always seems to vary inversely
with how wrong it is for him to be sitting where he happens to be at
the time, and unfortunately for discipline around here, I can't seem
to help myself from laughing at him.

Oops I made a mathematical error!  I should have said that Dante's
aura of smugness and sheer glee varies *directly* with how wrong it is
to be somewhere.  The more wrong it is for him to be somewhere, the
more ridiculously pleased with himself he looks, and that just cracks
me up.

Freshly laundered clothes warm from the dryer are cat magnets. =o)
Whenever I fold/put away my clean laundry, I always have to tussle
with Nina, who assumed since the stuff is spread out all over the
(her) bed, I of course meant her to burrow into the pile and get
affectionate with and possessive about the clothes. =o) Dante knows a
good thing when he sees it!

I can just see him perched atop the pile, daring you to chase him
away!

I guess I should admit that I allow Roxy to climb into my freshly dried
laundry. She's always cold and is always looking for a source of heat.
How is that different from any other cat, you might ask? Only in the
level of intensity and perseverance - if there's a warm spot, anywhere,
Roxy gets it, end of story. She will go right up to whoever is lying
in the one pool of sunlight, or the top of my computer monitor, or the
back of the couch overlooking the baseboard space heater, when that's
turned on, and slap them until they leave. And she's usually a peaceful
kitty, so you know this is something she feels pretty strongly about.
So who am I to deny her the warm laundry?

I do remove my outer garments first, and hang those up, but she can
curl up in the socks and undies!

LOL! My cats are strange - they don't care about warm laundry fresh from
the dryer. When I empty the laundry onto my bed for sorting, it's their
cue to lie in wait till I open a closet door and they can sneak in. In
one closet. I have a rucksack that I'm packing full of cat food so I can
send it with my brother to the island, and Caliban knows there are extra
rations in there. The other closet has shelves, an Miranda waits for me
to open it so she can jump on my back and then up to the highest shelf
with the clean towels.

LOL! You are happy then:-) Our gang waits until I finished folding the
laundry. When everything is in neat piles, they (Owl and Smoke) jump
on the piles and I can start over again!

Does she leaves them up there? And *ouch* for your poor back:-)

Not here - Woodgie loves to go down in the basement where the laundry is
done, but stays away from the laundry before and after the dryer. She's
more interested in the rocks and sometimes water in the French drains
around the edge of the basement and the heater, when it's on....

That was Fez, giving advice about how to best enjoy a basket of warm
clothes, fresh off the dryer.
