I think we have found a solution to the conflict between cats and
Roomba.
Earlier today, Little Feet was helping me put clean laundry into my
underwear drawer. When he climbed into the drawer, he noticed the
plastic container of "premium catnip" (which is why it is hidden in
the drawer...).
So I pulled out the container, poured a few piles around for everyone,
and just watched.
As I've mentioned, Little Boy is a mean drunk. He forces other cats
away, to get to their catnip. If you pick him up, he swipes at your
face and hisses.
Little Feet and Dulce Mae are just mellow. Buster is a *dignified*
drunk.
So I've got catnip crumbs all over the carpet. I don't worry, as the
cats will play in it (and still are), and the Roomba will pick it up
later.
Well, I caught Little Feet and Dulce Mae rubbing their faces against
the Roomba, just a little while ago, and rolling over and offering
their tummies to it.
So peace may yet reign. Until next time the Roomba rumbles through the
house...

And when the Roomba vacuums the catnip crumbs, it may start spreading
the smell of catnip around as it moves, at least an ordinary vacuum
might do this... They even sell "scent pearls" that you're supposed to
vacuum up and that way spread the scent around your home.

How do you like the Roomba? Do you still need a vaccum cleaner if you
have a Roomba? I would like to have a Roomba,
but it is pricey.

I like it. It gets a lot of surface dirt, and a lot of cat fur, but you
still need a regular vacuum, in my opinion, for the deeper dirt.
