A new world of cooperation is blooming!
This morning, Little Boy "found" a Q-Tip, and proceeded to bat it
around the bathroom floor. He was having a great time of it.
Now, our bathroom has a door that separates the tub and toilet area
from the sink area. Little Boy was playing in the sink half of the
bathroom, while Dulce Mae sat at in the tub half, watching Little Boy.
Little Boy batted the Q-Tip up to the very edge of the door, then sat
there. He reached out and pushed it a little more - just into Dulce
Mae's part of the bathroom.
Dulce Mae took up the Q-Tip and began swatting it all over. Need I
tell you that my feet were part of the obstacle course? Finally, she
batted the Q-Tip back to the sink half, and let Little Boy have
another turn.
This went on for about half an hour, as they swapped out turns. The
poor Q-Tip was certainly the worse for wear.
I think we had another breakthrough this morning too.
Instead of shying away and being submissive to Little Feet, Bucky
actually lunged out of his hiding place at Little Feet, who let Bucky
chase him this time. Of course, Little Feet insisted on chasing Bucky
right back (evil grin), but I think Bucky is get more socialized to
other cats now, now just us hoomins.
I'm seeing a lot more cooperative playing than agressive posturing
among all the cats now. For a long time, Little Feet and Dulce Mae
were The Team, Little Boy was the cuddle cat who tried to be alpha
cat, and Buster has been Unka Buster to all of the others.
I even saw old man Buster playing with Little Boy last week. The real
Spring must be getting really near...
