I was on the sofa in my shorts (no, not those shorts) when Smokey jumped up
to rest in my lap. This is significant in itself, since Smokey is not crazy
about short pants. Anyway, she starts to lick my leg, which is not unusual
for Smokey. But then she did it, she started rubbing her chops on the spot
she had just licked. My leg had become a washcloth for Smokey's bathing
activities. She did this about ten times, so it was no accident. We were
amazed that Smokey had that many brain cells to rub together and that she
had developed such catitude.

That's funny! My cat won't lick me, but nibbles on me at night. Just a
few chomps to make sure I taste the same and then we're ready to go to
sleep. I'm getting used to it and am a little rattled when I don't get
chomped a couple times before sleep...

When Persia is feeling extra content she gets lovey-dovey and will give me a
quick lick on my arm. This normally occurs when she's snuggled next to me
on the couch when I'm reading (she's a *great* snuggler!). The lick on the
arm is invariably followed by a very gentle nip in that same spot. I call
it her kitty kisses :D Oh, and sometimes in the morning as I start to rouse
I'll turn over and look at her and she gently nips my chin. It's so
endearing!

I too have just become accustomed to my cats rather freakish behaviour
and it also took place on the couch. I settled down after a typical
day and as usual Pippa has reached my knee before my bum hits the
fabric of the sofa. She plucked at me for a while and turned round and
round to find the exactly position for ultimate comfort. Then seemed to
settle down and whilst purring like she is on catnip looked
expectantly at me (which to me is the "where are my cuddles then!"
look). Of course I oblige, only to feel her teeth clamp around my hand
so tight that I thought blood was to follow - and to top it all off
she was purring even louder than before. My husband says it is a sign
of affection. I hate to think what she will do if I scrimp on the cat
food.
