Little Boy is lying on the corner of the bed. He is very specifically
Not Playing.

Bucky is on the floor, looking up at Little Boy. Bucky stands on his
hind feet and puts his face very close to little Boy's face. Little
Boy's whiskers twitch as Bucky breathes into Little Boy's face.

Deciding that Little Boy really is asleep, Bucky reaches over with a
paw and does a tap, tap on Little Boy's head, then sits back on his
haunches and waits. Little Boy continues to snooze. Sitting in the
window and worrying about when your playmate will return is obviously
hard work.

Bucky stands up on his hind feet again, carefully inspects Little
Boy's face, and sniffs him. Hmmm. Still asleep. So he does another
tap, tap on Little Boy's head, and sits back on his haunches again.

This time, Little Boy streeeetches, nearly rolling off the bed. With
one of his stretched paws, he reaches out and bops Bucky on the head.

Bucky meows at him, and they play slappy paws for a few minutes while
Little Boy, old two-year-old that he is, stretches the kinks out of
his poor old joints.

They then proceed to chase up and down the hall, with an occasional
stop to kick around the catnip mousie or to play soccer with the
beaten up miniature football. When Senyah isn't looking, they steal
her squeeze ball, and play tag with it, until she recognizes her
squeeze ball...

Mark,

Have I mentioned lately how much I enjoy your stories?  You have quite
the gift.

Thank you. But the subjects of my stories make it so easy (big grin).

Sorry if this gets posted twice, but i love the term Slappy paws.

Mine do it a lot too.  I call it the "I'm not touching YOUUUUUU" game.
