Thursday, the weather got nice again, so I let Bucky go back out.
Little Boy sat in the window, and every time he saw a cat who was even
slightly grey, he sat up and meowed for his playmate to come back in.
Poor Little Boy!
But Bucky didn't show back up until this morning, when I put out food
for the ferals. Then he wanted IN. He chowed down, then curled up on
the bed. Little Boy cuddled up next to him, boxed his ears once, and
they settled down for a nice long nap.
As I walked past, I petted Little Boy, skritched his ears, rubbed his
tummy, and told him I loved him.
At which point Bucky opened his eyes, stared right at me and gave me a
sad "Do you love me too?" meow.
"Of course I do, sweetie. You are the bestest little grey kitten
around. I ADORE you."
Bucky began a nice loud purr, and cuddled closer to Little Boy.
All is right with the world.
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

It's posts like this that keep me going sometimes. A friend on another
newsgroup recently stated that he is convinced there is more sadness than
joy in the world. I don't want to believe that, and posts like this
convince me that he is wrong.

But joy is so much more than sadness.
I firmly believe that even a little light is far more powerful than a great
deal of darkness.
And I also believe in the power of purrs
And in the strength that flows from even the smallest bittie rubbing against
your ankle. How else do you explain how heavy an eight pound cat can be
when it wants to.
