Hi

Some of you may remember that apart from this group one of the people who
kept me sane while Dave was in hospital was a very old friend called Tessa,
who had her dad in hospital at the same time?.

I just emailed her to check if our usual lunch date was on and she just told
me her dad passed away on Easter Sunday

I'm seeing her Friday and I hope she's okay but when her mum died she had
major breakdown (Which led to her finding her life partner oddly enough)

So could we please have some purrs for Tessa and her dad

Major purrs for Tessa and her Dad.  Maybe this time she'll find a feline therapist to help her through her grief.  Lots of sympathy and healing wishes for Tessa and all who know and love her and her father.

Funny thing is that she has a cat and 3 dogs. She admits she's a "dog
person" and is studying dog behaviour etc because her dream is to get
a career in the area of dog training. The cat, Sooty a black DSH (With
a name like that are you surprised to find the feline is a black DSH?)
apparently treats the house as somewhere to come in when he's cold,
bored or hungry.and he's been with Jackie (Tessa's partner) since
before Tessa

Tessa's never really understood the charm of being a slave and I
suspect Sooty regards his Hoomins with the same indifference. They're
not cruel (Sooty is neutered, chipped, wormed and has had his shots)
but I get the impression Tessa regards cats as lower than dogs

Maybe this is the time for Sooty to demonstrate why felines are good
in a crisis. When my dad died, Isis (RB) who never sat on my chair sat
on it until I came home. I was out when I heard that maybe I had
better get to the hospital asap and Dave tells me as soon as he took
the call, Isis went to my chair and sat there until the next day when
I came back and when I did she looked at me as if to say "I know
you're having a bad time and I've kept it warm for you" and jumped off

Mind you when I took the call to tell me my mum had died..I REALLY
didn't knoe whether to laugh or cry!!! I'm listening to my brother
with the sad news and out of the corner of my eye I can see Dunzi and
Sarsi apparently engaged in licking each other in places we will not
mention!

Knowing now what it's like to lose a parent, (my mother passed January of
this year), I send extra purrs and prayers for your friend, Tessa.

Comforting purrs are coming over to Tessa. When my mom died in
September 05, a world broke down for me, although I knew, that it
would happen. I know exactly, how she must feel...

Just to let you all know I told Tessa about the purrs and she appreciated
them.

She seems to be bearing up as best she can considering her sister has
apparently turned into a drama queen (The sister who's main concern last
October was if he had to go into a home they would have to sell the flat and
bang would go her inheritance) and today has gone off to get something
suitable to wear...a Vivienne Westwood dress, no less! (If you get the
impression I am not keen on Tessa's sister you are right!)
