I'm trying to train myself not to call them "Baby [name]". It took me almost
five years to realize that Abelard has grown up, and over two years with
Billy & Lily. I still think of Beatrice as Baby Bea, and I suppose I ought
to stop it now that she's two.

I still call Dante "bitty" while he's busy crashing his fur-covered
lead balloon body around the house. ;)

And I still call Caliban 'baby' in spite of his 5-6 kilos of cat.

I still call Samwise Mommy's boy and he will be 3 in July.
Just like a child, the youngest is always your baby.

This reminds me of a funny event last Sunday. I overheard two women
talking. One of them referred to her toddler as "my baby". The
toddler, who looked like he was not quite two years old, protested,
"I'm not a baby! I'm a boy!".
