Don't EVER try and plant spring plants in the garden when you are
supervised by Miss Lily Whiskers or HRFL Tiger. I have spent today busy
planting a whole load of new plants ready for summer. It took me about 4
hours as I had to prepare the flower beds, and water the various plants
in. All 60 of them. I planted pansies, foxgloves, poppies and a huge
variety of others as I am trying to recreate an insect & butterfly
friendly cottage garden. I also planted 2 lavender bushes (which smell
heavenly in the evenings) and a small Rowan tree.

His Royal Feline Lordship Tiger, Robbie the Ginger Ninja and Miss Lily
Whiskers supervised everything I did. They lay on the patio in the sun
as I grafted and watered the plants in. When I finished, they carefully
sniffed all the new plants and checked that I had done it properly. Then
HRFL accompanied me indoors to make a cup of tea. Miss Lily Whiskers
stayed in the garden with Robbie, the Ginger Ninja. Everything went
quiet. I enjoyed my tea for 20 minutes.....

And then I went back out into the garden......to find that Miss Lily
Whiskers plastered in dirt and looking very pleased with herself. She
had spent a very productive 20 minutes digging up every single bloody
plant, supervised by Robbie!

I was NOT amused! Miss Lily Whiskers was though. Especially when she got
to supervise me planting them for a second time.

It's just as well I love her too much to kill her.

Helen,

This is all so familiar, lol.   Fluffy likes to sleep right in front of the
fork and always runs the risk of being stabbed.   It is spring for you and
autumn for us.   A lot of bulbs are coming up and I am seeing the last of
the Monarch butterflies.   It was a bad year for the Monarchs this year - we
had a plague of small wasps who dined on the babies.   The Monarchs main
foodsource is the Swan plant and I never have had an intact plant left at
the end of summer.   This year I have
plants intact apart from a few nibbled leaves, sad - hope it will be a
better outcome this summer.

Your garden sounds delightful.

IT'S GOOD GOOD.  PAWROB IS BACK AND THERE ARE NEW TOYS TO PLAY WITH AND A
GREAT NEW BED TO SLEEP ON.  MEOWMIE IS LIVING IN THE BOOK ROOM, SO WE CATS
CAN GET THE PAW TO OURSELVES.  HIS BED MOVES!  IT GOES UP AND DOWN.  HE HAS
A CHAIR WITH WHEELS AND A CHAIR IN THE WET PLACE.  (bath tub)  HE HAS HIS
OWN PUTER BUT HE WON'T LET US PLAY ON IT, AND CLOSES DA LID.  HE'S TIRED A
LOT, SO HE IS A PERFECT BUDDY TO SLEEP WITH, BUT HUEY, MERLIN, AND SONYA
DON'T ALWAYS LET ME SLEEP WITH DA PAW.  HE BROUGHT BACK A TOY BOX WITH TOYS
IN IT.  THEY ARE FUN TO TAKE OUT AND PLAY WITH.  WE GETS GOOD EATS WHEN HE
EATS.  HIS HANDS SHAKE AND HE SHARES THE GOOD STUFF WITH US.  YOU SHOULD ALL
GHOST OVER AND SEE WHAT I MEAN.

LOVE, QUI GUN KIT

I had to keep Woodgie out of the tulips I brought home from church this
morning.

It's much too cold here in NJ to start working on the garden yet and
Woodgie

isn't allowed outside for too long or she'd freeze. She doesn't seem to
like

going out when it's nice, just when it's cold as sin... She likes to
sniff at

the lavender plants I have outside, but I do not imagine they smell
much yet... Brrr...

LOL! Reminds me of when my sister had planted some seedlings neatly in a
planter inside, to let them grow a bit before she planted them out on
the island. Her cat Ronja obviously had her own ideas about gardening.
She would pull out the seedlings one by one and set them neatly in a row
along the planter, but outside it. This was repeated many times, until
the seedlings were so much the worse for wear that my sister gave up on
them.

I'm sorry, Helen, I tried hard not to laugh but I couldn't help myself.
