I said a loving farewell to Panther, and sent him across the Rainbow Bridge to leave his physical pain and poor health behind. I can't forget how thin and light he was, or how he collapsed, even before the vet had given him the complete dose. I miss you, sweetie. I hope you and Izzy have found a sunny windowsill for meatloafing together in the afterlife while you wait. I haven't forgotten either of you for a moment of the time you've been gone. Nina and Francesca are keeping me company, but it I no longer have you. I know each of you have also had to make that decision and let go of a beloved cat or cats. (Which is why I posted that here, naturally!) Fortunately the girls were at their cutest, most playful, and most affectionate yesterday, so the apartment didn't feel TOO empty. Still, Izzy and Pan were the first cats who owned me as an adult on my own, and now they're both gone.
