I haven't posted here in a long time, although I do check in an read
sometimes.
Last night, when I went to bed, Shroder was fine. This morning he was in
the closet, where he never goes. He came out and laid around all day. We
took him to the vet at 2:00 pm, and then the vet called shortly after we
got home. He had passed away. The vet said he had Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy. In other words, he had an undiagnosed heart disease, and
apparently had a heart attack and died.
We are, to say the least, in shock.

Lighting a candle here, and sending comforting purrs to those left
behind.

Your post hits pretty close to home, since Sammy was diagnosed
recently. She's back to normal now. Then my Rocky departed for the RB
this week, so they'll be learning the best sunny spots together.

I'm so sorry! That is a terrible shock. You take him in, expecting him
to have a minor but treatable problem, and suddenly he's gone. It's hard
to imagine.

How shocking for you. I am so sorry. I remember you writing about
Shroder. I hope you can take comfort that he did not suffer a long
illness. Believe me, keeping yourself very, very busy helps against
the bereft feeling. I lost my beloved Amber in August. Even with three
cats, I still am lonely for Amber. My sympathy and understanding to
you. Purrs,

Thanks to all of you, it is rather lonely around here, even though
we still have another cat. Shroder, however, was a person cat, he
used to jump up on my lap for attention, and would always come
up on the bed with my wife and I at bedtime, and a time or two
during the night, he would come around and wake us with his purring.
Plus, he always woke me up in the morning, my own alarm cat.
Thanks again

It seems to me that a "person" cat is more like a little human in a
fur coat! Intelligent and full of personality, often a charming
rascal, but also responsive to the human resident and that person's
needs. Perhaps my Amber is introducing Shroder to everyone at the RB.
Some day we will be with them again. Purrs,

So sorry for your loss, I think we must all know how hard it is to lose a
beloved cat, or any pet, but yourknee does feel particularly empty
when you lose a lap cat, condolences, and hugs,  Jean.P.

Oh my god. How incredibly shocking. It must be hard to believe that he's gone.
I had a cat go in half a day. I walked around in a daze for two weeks. I just
could not believe it. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Take care.

Oh, what a nasty shock! I'm so sorry to hear this. Many purrs coming your
way, to comfort, strengthen and heal you. be assured that he only left you
temporarily; today there's a little one in the heavens who has never known
the love and friendship of a cat, and Shroder just went to remedy that,
until you meet again.

Blessed be,
Baha

{{{{{Dick}}}}}} I am so sorry for your loss of Shroder.

I understand your shock.  The last baby I lost, Mojo, also had an
undiagnosed heart problem, and died suddenly at 2 years old.  My
thoughts are very much with you.

Purring for Shroder's gentle journey to the Bridge, and for your
gentle healing.
