Watched Persia at the Cat Fountain...

Why has it taken me 6 years to realize cats have flippy tails?  Maybe I'm
totally unversed about this.  I watched Persia drinking from her Drinkwell
fountain today and her tail was flipping back and forth, slowly.  Not
lashing; she wasn't angry, she was content.  It just went flip, flop, flip,
flop.  Is this some sort of signal to the mothership?  Like, "Don't kill the
hoomin right now".  Or did I simply not get that page of the manual? :D

She's undeniably cute and cuddly, by the way.  She snuggled with me on the
couch this afternoon while (for a change) the local public television
station wasn't trying to grab money from everyone and then showing those
pitiful self-help women's empowerment programs.  What was playing was the
old Helen Keller story starring Anne Bancroft & Patti Duke.  First time I've
seen them show an old B&W classic like that in years.  And Persia was
snuggled up right next to me, snoozing with her head on my arm.  Sweet!
Didn't have any popcorn, darnit!

Until Ketzl I never realized this thing about tails. From day one I was aware
of his very expressive tail motions. When he gets riled or excited or even
over-loved, his tail lashes all over the place.

Even when he's comfortable, it moves similarly to what you describe: filp,
flop, flip...... flop.

Even sound asleep, the very tip moves gently every so often. It gives me
hours of entertainment.

Yep, it's endearing.  When Persia sleeps her tail is usually curled aroud
under one leg but I see it sort of flick from time to time.  She also has
dreams and her paws quiver, like she's chasing mousies in her sleep.  Oh,
and she snores.  LOL

Arrgh.  I do love my PBS, understand, but I've seen more than enough
of people telling me how to manage my money and my breasts. ;)

Nothing like watching TV with your furry darling.  The first night
Stinky was with me, after spending most of it tearing all over the
house, poking into, under, over and behind everything, he found me
watching TV, and crawled his skinny little self right up onto my chest
and under my chin, and fell asleep.  I had watched his hoolikitten
antics with dismay, earlier in the day, and wondered if I could handle
him.  But that act of cuddly sweetness sealed the deal.

He's done just about the same thing almost every night for fifteen and
a half years. ;)
