Silhouette of Sophie

You're probably sitting at your computer with an unobstructed view of
the screen. Not me. I have to move aside the head of a silhouette
aside to see what I'm writing. Our dear chubby little black Sophie is
sitting directly in front of me, reading every word I write. Actually,
she's waiting for prey - the mouse icon. If she sees it move she'll
nail it with her paw. Fortunately her claws are retracted so she won't
scratch the plastic surface. So why don't I lift her onto the floor?
Because (a) she's cute; (b) she's having fun - I can tell because
she's purring; and (c) because I'm a softie when it comes to cats.

UPDATE: Just as I finished writing that, Sophie got bored and wandered
off. Now I can see the screen. But I'm left with nothing more to say!

I get that so often I've had to hotkey a "shout" in the online game I
play to alt+9 which tells my teammates that "KITTY IS NOT A WINDOW!".
They then understand perfectly and protect my (now blind) avatar
untilI can see enough to move again.

LOL what else could there be?  Sophie was there, a fascinating sillouette,
then she was gone.  You poor deprived hoomin!  Go find her!  Give her
scritches.  Or something!

I didn't have to find her to give her scritches. A few minutes later,
as the song title goes, "The Cat Came Back"- and blocked my view again!

Nope there's usually a tail hanging down over the monitor. Dave is toying
with getting one of those flat monitors...I dread to think what will happen
if he does, the first time one of them jumps up
