Are aquatic plants poisonous?

I was messing with the fish tanks today, I took all carnivorous fish
from the small tank and moved them to the big one. I intend to make the
small tank mostly a shrimp tank. I have 3 species in there and expect to
get a half a dozen more in the coming weeks. Anyway, in the process of
catching the fish (30 minutes to catch five 2" long fish!) some of the
plants came loose and ended up on a towel next to the tank with the
filter and the hood. I moved the fish, emptied the little nursery I had
in the tank with baby shrimp and put the tank back together. Fez was
conspicuously absent during all this work, he's usually very interested
in the fish tank cleaning process. Anyhow, I was giving the final
touches when I noticed Fez next to me, chewing away. He ate at least
some of 2 species of plants, hopefully not more than a leaf or two.
Anybody out there know if aquatic plants tend to be poisonous to cats?

sorry, no help. I worry about Sammy the same way, since she takes
taste tests pretty much any plant she can reach when I take her out.
Course it works out for her, I don't want to spray the plants so she
gets to chase the various bugs.

I'm sorry, I don't know, Victor -- how is Fez today?

He's fine, figuring out how to get into the tank to eat more of those
yummy plants... :)
