Posted once before, I still think it's a joke.  And it's not recommended for
the simple reason that good sole is *very* expensive.

Gotta Have Sole

 1/2 pound fillet of sole
 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
 Water
1 tablespoon margarine (heh, I'd use butter!)
 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
 1/2 cup milk
 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
 2 tablespoons chopped liver (pate?)
 1/2 teaspoon iodized salt
 2/3 cup cooked rice
1.. Place sole in a small, greased baking dish. Sprinkle with the parsley.
Add enough water to just cover the bottom of the dish. Bake in a preheated
450*F (230*C) oven for 10 minutes. Cool then and shred with a fork.
2.. Melt margarine in a small saucepan. Stir in flour and heat until
bubbly. Gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture
thickens. Remove from heat and add cheese, liver, and salt, stirring until
cheese has melted.
3.. Add the flaked fish and rice to cheese sauce and stir well. Cool.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Heck, take out the liver and multiply the amounts of everything and it
would make a delicious meal for humans!

No joke!  I'd eat it!

That may depend upon how old the recipe is!  I can remember
when sole - and most other fish, except salmon - were
inexpensive alternatives to red meat.  (As was chicken - how
times change!)

These days sole is *very* expensive!  $13.99 a pound IF you can find it.
And we're not talking Dover sole, either!  As for the liver, well, it's
pate.  Goose liver pate, more than likely.  Again not an inexpensive item.
I love my cat but good lord!! (laughing)

Jake already eats better than we do.  He still gets his thawed minced shrimp
at bedtime.  And non of those tiny ones mind you.  If the ones I buy for him
are less than an inch long, Charlie gives him two.

Only exception is when he doesn't come in for the night when he is called.
He makes us wait up too long and its no shrimp for him.

I hear ya!  I love my cats, too, but I want to eat.  If I fed mine sole and
pate, what would be left for me???  :~)

I remember many years ago my great aunt offered her cat, Benny, some caviar,
he sniffed it and walked away. ;-) Just one of the many cats I've known and
miss.

YEP!  One of the few snack food items I buy is Cheez-It's and Persia will
snag one out of my hand in an instant given half a chance!  Crunchy cheese!
