I don't know what happened. I just got depressed, and all I could do
was play Bubbels and MahJonng or watch TV (and do cat things, of
course). And the longer it went on, the more I felt overwhelmed by the
thought of trying to read anything here. Yikes -- over 5,000 messages I
missed!
Sending mega-purrs to Rob and Jim, and to those who recently lost their
babies. I hope no one here has lost one to that horrible recall mess.
My guys are very lucky; nothing they eat was on the list.
We had a vet trip for Trill and Cosmo. Cosmo has a heart murmur (and
CRF), and he seemed to be breathing harder than normal. Vet checked him
out and suspected the air was too dry, so suggested I cut back the Lasix
and watch him carefully in case he goes back the other way.
Trill needed his shot for his EGC again. Plus he had infected gums :-(
Had to give him antibiotics for over a week. He took it well at
first, but as soon as he started to feel better -- you guessed it, he
turned into my "normal" Trill and did his hiss-spit thing.
One of the funniest things was when the vet was looking over Trill's
visits -- and I have somehow managed to bring him to the vet in February
each time. And only February. Weird!
Dear Jack (also known as #$$%^&**z), ahem, decided a couple of weeks ago
to wrap himself very, very tightly around my feet. Which, of course,
caused me to trip (on a cat food bowl, no less), leading to swelling and
pain and purple on my left foot, followed by an x-ray. They tell me I
have no broken bones; I'd like to know why in the world the foot is
still swollen and hurt!
We had a terrible case here in Columbus that has given me nightmares
(WARNING! NEXT PARAGRAPH NOT FOR THE VERY SENSITIVE)
A local woman was arrested for drowning hundreds of cats and dogs. She
said she was a "rescuer" and that there were too many so she was being
"humane". I have screamed and cried and had nightmares and wished I
could do something to this horrible woman. It hurts. It kills me. I
can't stop thinking of those poor babies ("It only took 90 seconds", she
said. Oh, GOD!). Enough of that, since I still can hardly bear to think
of it.
I need happier news!
Well, all the kitties are hanging in there, and that's good. I've
gotten them some new beds lately, as well as a couple of new litterboxes
(one is a kitten litterbox, the other actually is a dishpan, but it
works quite well!) Of course, the support bed I wanted arthritic
Internet in has been claimed by Gigantic Brando Cat, and the one I hoped
Cosmo would use (since he has CRF, and gets cold) with the little
microwave heating disk, has been claimed by Jack. And, of course, it
isn't the smaller kitties that use the kitten box. Of course not! It
is the BIG kitties that use it, and end up with their butts hanging over
the side half the time. What a crazy crew I have!
Anyway, wishing everyone well, and sending purrs where needed.
Love,
Ginger-lyn

I'm very glad to see you back, Ginger-lyn, many of us have struggles with
depression I'm sure it helps to have the cats around. Please try to avoid
the news so much of it is sickening, a thing that happened near me a couple
of weeks ago made me feel suicidel it was so sick. Purrs you continue to
feel better.

Hi Ginger-lyn,
It's good to see that you are back. I hope you stick around and don't let
RL and the number of messages here overwhelm you.
Also, thanks for the positive thoughts in another thread.

Mega-purrs back atcha, Ginger-lyn. I think that depression is a worse
disorder than the physical ones. At least you can see those. Glad the
owners are doing well. I sometimes think I was brought out of the worst of
my long term depression at the purr of a Tanada girl. She's a GOW but she
cares about Rob and I. I'm not too sure about the rest of the gang. She
doesn't seem to like them all that much.
