Recently a client of our lost her cat and asked if we could find her
another one (old woman, no car) So we made some calls and found her a
gray DSH male cat named Timmy.  Unfortunately for her, Timmy hid under
the bed and wouldn't come out.  The old woman didn't want a cat who
would hide from her and after a whole day said that this cat wasn't
for her.

As much as I was frustrated that this woman didn't even give Timmy a
chance; I must admit that Timmy has spent the time at our clinic
working his kitty magic on all of us.

At first he was reluctant to use the litterbox.  I acutally had to
shut myself in an exam room with him and a litterbox and after
scratching it for him he finally went to use it.......after i turned
my back so he could have his privacy.

I was filling prescriptions in the pharmacy area and dropped an empty
pill vial.  I reached down to pick it up and when i stood up, Timmy
was right there on the counter inspecting my work.

He loves to sprawl out on the doctor's desk and walk in front of their
computer monitors while they are working.  There's a slot in the wall
leading from their office to the receptionist area and the doctors put
files there when they need to be refiled.  Mango at one time figured
out how to squeeze through there.  Well now that slot is occupied by
Timmy.

So I'll be walking through the receptionist area and suddenly I'll see
a tail sticking out of the slot.  Awwwww!!

One of the doctors spent a week in the caribbean when Timmy was
starting to explore the hospital.  When he came back he turned his
office chair around to sit in it, only to find Timmy sleeping on it.
His response?  "Who the heck is that?"  Ever since Timmy loves hanging
around his desk.

He absolutely HATES dogs.  So much that one of my coworkers who brings
her dogs with her to work (they hang out in the receptionist area)
managed to sneak back into the treatment room.  He snuck up on Timmy
and sniffed his rear.  Timmy levitated a full foot and ran back into
the doctor's office with a 'raccoon' tail.

A few weeks ago he pulled a nice b*stard cat trick.  We were closing
up and we have to make sure all the hosptial cats are in their cages.

Sergio?  check.....

Rebekah?  check.....

Mimi?  check......

Rosie? check......

Mango? (he hadn't been adopted yet)  mrrrrrrrooooWWWWWWW!  check.....

Timmy? ...................Timmy???

Oh great...

So we combed the entire hospital looking for Timmy?  Was he locked in
the manager's office?  Oh no, no food or litterbox in there?  Did he
sneak outside? What if he snuck outside?

After searching for 30 minutes, which included us trying to pick the
lock of the manager's office with a paperclip and me walking outside
with an open can of cat food......we found him.

He was curled up underneath the tub in the grooming area.

I swear when we put him back i could hear him snickering.............

So anyways, Timmy does need a home, even though he seem quite
accustomed to the clinic.

Anyone interested?

He sounds like a funny little cat.  He doesn't sound like he would
hide under the bed forever like Charleen's cat Aggie :)

I wonder what it would be like to have a hide-and-seek cat?  It would
probably be very low maintenance - you'd hardly even know you have a
cat.  The cat food is slowly eaten, and the litter box mysteriously
fills overnight.  It would be sort of neat, like living in a haunted
house.
