This is Mayhem, I've hijacked Meowmie's computer to write this entry
so that other cats may benefit from our experience. Imp and I were
CATNAPPED a while back, and tonight Meowmie left on her compewter so I
am able to relate our story.
It was morning and we all teamed together to wake up the hoomin so she
could feed us. We were all happily munching away at our breakfast
when we heard a door close. Meowmie had shut the door to the
bedroom!!! She then came after us. We ran but with the door shut we
couldn't get into the bedroom to hide under the bed. She grabbed Imp
first and stuffed him into a box. I managed to squeeze behind the
desk but she still grabbed me and despite my hissing and yelling I got
shut into the box too.
We were taken to TED where Meowmie also works, and we were RUDELY
place on a scale and then put into a cage!!!
Then one at a time, Meowmie took us out and STABBED US IN THE BELLY
WITH A NEEDLE!!!! She said something about needing to get a sample of
our cat pee. STUPID HOOMIN!! I'll leave a sample of cat pee on her
pillow tonight. No charge!!!
Then she handed us off to another hoomin who then soaked us with WATER
and scrubbed us with soap!!! EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
Then finally after what seemed like hours, Meowmie brought us home and
cuddled us and kissed us and said she was sorry for torturing us like
that.
Well I sat on her head that night when she was asleep and sent her
mental messages to never EVER do that again to us.
Why do hoomins DO THAT??!! I feel perfectly fine and there's NOTHING
wrong with my cat pee. I don't need to be dragged to TED to find that
out.

*******************
As I've mentioned in a previous entry, I brought my cats in for
checkups last December, and all three of them were found to be
overweight, and Imp and Mayhem were found to both have struvite
crystals in their urine. So I switched to feeding my cats w/d, which
is prescription food that would not only help with weight loss, but
also help acidify their urine to get rid of the crystals.
I also mentioned in a previous entry that my kitties seem to know when
I want to bring them to work with me. As soon as I get dressed for
work, Imp and Mayhem make a beeline to hide under the bed.
Well yesterday morning, I managed to shut my bedroom door while they
were all in my office, all of them busy munching on breakfast. Imp
ran in circles but I caught him. Mayhem hissed at me, but I managed
to grab her too.
I had them both looked at by one of the doctors I work with and I'm
happy to report that both of them have lost weight. Mayhem is down
from 8.0 pounds to 8 pounds. I will just need to monitor her to make
sure she doesn't lose too much weight. But IMP on the other hand, my
big boy is down from 16.4 pounds to 15.2 pounds. Oh my big boy, I'm
so PROUD of him.
Yes I did manage to get urine from both of them, and the preferred
method is cystocentesis, with a needle and syringe. I was unable to
get a sample, but the doctor was able to. Then I did a urinalysis on
both cats and I'm happy to report that they are both free of struvite
crystals. So changing over to w/d worked fine.
Then I asked the groomer to give them both baths. Mayhem screamed
bloody murder and when I was done helping the doctor on another case I
turned around to see the groomer holding a very wet Mayhem wrapped up
in a towel and cuddled up like a baby. AWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! My baby
was all clean and pretty and I scritched her behind the ears and told
her that. Even though she was giving me these "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS
TO ME??" looks.
The groomer then gave Imp a bath and I wish I could have been there
but I heard about it later. Imp got his nail trimmed, ears cleaned;
and was soaped up and scrubbed and rinsed. The groomer was then
rubbing in the conditioner when Imp decided to make a flying leap for
freedom.
He made a giant leap alright................landing right on TOP of the
groomer's head.
I heard that she started screaming for someone to help her and she
couldn't pull Imp off her head because he was so slick and slippery
from the conditioner.
Eventually Imp was pried off her head and put back into the tub. When
the groomer told me of Imp climbing on her head, I was embarrassed yet
at the same time laughing so hard I could barely stand. I then picked
Imp out of the cage dryer and held him close and comforted him. My
poor boy was sooooooooo scared.
But they are sooooooooo clean now. Hehehehehehehe
I gave both of them extra EXTRA cuddles that night when we got home.
Mischief had managed to escape this whole ordeal, but tomorrow is
Thursday and she is ALSO due for a bath. muhahahhahahahahaha
