I had one of those incredibly bad insomniac nights.  Didn't get to sleep
until about 4AM and then I had very weird dreams which kept waking me back
up.  I guess I *finally* fell into a deep sleep around 6:30.

Now I know I'm not supposed to but I gave Persia a bit of kibble around
2:30AM.  So when she started fussing at me, doing her tap me on the nose and
shoulder routine around 8:30, at first I just shushed her.  I was sooooo
tired and knew I could fall immediately back to sleep if she'd let me.  But
she wouldn't relent.  Finally jerked out of the last remnants of a deep
sleep I yelled, "NO!" and smacked the bed with my hand!  Scared my sweet
baby to death!

I feel so bad!  She was just doing what she does.  So of course I couldn't
get back to sleep after that.  I got up and she came running (she's a very
forgiving little girl).  I snuggled her and told her I'm sorry.  Then I got
her her morning helping of kibble.  All is well but I felt awful.  And I'm
still so tired yet there's no way I'll be able to get back to sleep now that
I've been walking around doing 'pet chores'.  (sigh)

She probably thinks the bed did a bad thing and you were mad at it, not
at her. Aren't forgiving cats great.
