Thursday, I ended up staying home.
What the heck," I said carelessly, "I'll log on to the network at the
office and see what needs my attention."
Needless to say, I ended up working from home on my sick day, although
it was with a cat on my lap, and minus the two-hour commute.
Buster lay on my lap all day, tummy exposed for rubbing, and head
questing for skritches. He has the bad habit of kneading my chest and
tummy when it feels good, though, so I have a few more minor scratches
to show for it (grin), and a pinched nerve (feels like your leg is
asleep, only for several hours) in my left leg from sitting with a cat
in my lap most of the day (big grin).
When lunch time came around, I laid on the bed for a nap (try getting
away with that at work), since I was still feeling under the weather.
Little Feet came over, crawled up under my arm, and laid his paws and
head on my righ bicep (dammit, why don't I ever have a camera handy
for moments like this?). We took a nice nap together, and he even
started tapping my face a few minutes after my lunch hour was up.
Smart cat! Darnit (grin)!
So allin all, if you have to have a sick day, and still have lots of
work that has to be done, I think I've found the ideal way to do this
(big grin).

Absolutely. Nothing like a purring kitty around to relax one. I was
lucky enough to have some early days last week, so -- extra cuddling
time!

I'm glad you had lots of kitty help, and hope you're feeling better by
now. Just out of curiosity, even if your camera had been handy, how
would you have managed to get a picture of Little Feet lying on your
right arm? ;-)

Um, with my left arm?
Probaby by holding the camera up and away, with my other arm, hoping
to have correct focus and field of view, and hoping to click the
shuttle button telepathically (big grin).

My cats also love me taking a siesta around 1 PM. I've been unemployed for
some time now, and I have learnt a lot from my two masters on how to use my
day... :-)

You know it. Cats do not have this insane American work ethic. They
are much more - - - French. ;) Or Italian, or Spanish.
I've always thought we needed a siesta in this country. Every place
I've ever worked had a de facto afternoon nap, anyway. ;)
