Oh, ick...  Those are not only disgusting, they taste awful!  I don't
care how they are prepared.

Before you perverts get going to far  fuzzy or shaved means deep fried or

thinking ;-)

Of course for me at this time fried clams are just fried clams, food I
love but can't eat without messing up my dieting.  That is how I got fat
in the first place fried food, junk food, patato chips (did I mention
fried food?).

Hope all are doing well, doing good here.

Matt, you are a single guy now. That means:

(1) Of course it's hard to resist
(2) You don't have to resist.

:)

True, but I wish they'd stop using corn in the coating. I can't eat
corn. What I'd really like is a lobster roll. I'm also in New England.

I'm sorry you can't eat corn. There must be a place where they use something
else for the coating. Anyway, I'm not in New England any more, and visit
infrequently, hence the ardent desire for Fried Clams whenever I'm there.

There is a place in Hingham, MA that sells fried lobster rolls (or they used
to, any way) that are just the best thing ever. I realize you probably can't
eat fried lobster either, if it's coated with the corn batter, but now I'm
salivating all over my keyboard. I guess I can console myself with the
thought that they're probably too expensive for me to afford now. They were
something like $8 back in the 60s.

Regular lobster rolls aren't all that bad, either! :-)

For some really strange reason, fried clams are non-existent in NYC. Go
figure. A place where you can get ANYthing.... except fried clams.

Sheepshead Bay comes to mind.

In this gorgeous warm weather, I was actually contemplating a train ride to
Coney Island, but the rain forecast for later has so far deterred me. I know
I can get Nathan's hot dogs there; there must be fried clams somewhere.

They used to do fried clams at Nathan's-- they may still.  I really
think there must still be a few places in the wilds of Brooklyn that
do fried clams.

Jill, it could happen to anyone-- everyone who's ever run into
internet creepiness.  I've pulled the troll trigger prematurely in my
time, too.  The killfile option is always open, so it doesn't hurt to
give people a second chance.
