Update on Annie

Annie seems to have responded well to her first chemo treatment.
Last Tues. she ate a package of soft food.  Last night and this
morning I noticed she was drinking from the water bowl.

I haven't been able to get a good look but it appears that her tongue
is back in the center of her mouth.  So I'm assuming the growth has
gone down.

I'm just happy she's eating and drinking again.  I believe she's put
on at least a pound too.  We go back to the vet on the 14th so I won't
have any more information until then.

Purrs,

Theresa

A POUND. That's a great sign, and the eating and drinking is even
better. Our lot are cheering for her. One pound of weight gained would
be a lot for our little Himmy's. They weigh four or five pounds each.

We will continue to send purrs and gentle headbutts that Annie
continues to improve.  Sam sends special fellow cancer patient purrs
on top of the purrs coming from our house.

It sounds like so far, so good. It's very impressive if she is showing
signs of improvement already. We will continue to purr for you and Annie.

I'm so glad she seems to be responding to the treatment.  Many purrs that
the chemo kills the tumour completely.
I chose chemotherapy for one of my dogs once.  Like you, initially I thought
I wouldn't but I thought about it until my brain hurt, what to do, the
ethics of it all.  The conclusion that I came to was that it was *me* whom
this dog relied on to do the best for him.  I questioned if I was doing the
best for him if I didn't try, as he was in no pain and maybe it would work.
I decided to give him that chance.  I don't regret my decision, not just for
his sake, but for mine.  The guilt would have been awful if we had not at
least tried.
Lots of purrs for you and Annie.  It sounds quite hopeful up to now.
