I got a call from the vet.  They got 2 bags of Persia's Hill's Prescription
Diet x/d in, did I want to come pick them up?  John gave me a little "pin
money" (as my grandmother would have called it).  So I went to the vet and
got the bags of food.

Persia had been sound asleep when I left but was awake and waiting for me
when I got back.  And when I set the bags of food down she rubbed herself
all over them and said to me,  "MEOWMA?"  Yes, Persia, it's your food.  She
started yelling.  MEOWMA! MEOWMA!  (Think of Al Pacino in 'Dog Day
Afternoon' yelling "Attica! Attica!")

She put up such a fuss I (good cat slave that I am) caved and gave her a
tiny bit well before time for her 2nd measured feeding.  She, being the
Queen she is, took one bite and walked off.  All that fuss for one bite?!
LOL  Guess she showed me who is boss ;)

She will no doubt go back and feast later.

Ketzl likes to pretend he's not interested in certain types of food: chicken,
beef, sometimes even fish varieties. He clamors, I give it to him, he sniffs
it, buries it under his napkin* and walks off.

After I've left the kitchen he manages to get back in there without me seeing
him and chows down. How do I know? Because I can go back in there even 10
minutes later and lift his napkin, and half of the food is gone.

*I think I mentioned his napkin before. If not, it's a linen napkin that he
has taken ownership of. I gave it to him out of necessity: to keep him from
scratching h-e-double-toothpicks out of the floor, the wall and the stove in
an attempt to cover up his leftovers. Before the napkin, it took him so long
to convince himself that the dish was safe, he scratched for a loooong time
and the dish might have ended up two rooms away!

She wanted to show her appreciation for your efforts.  One bite for that
and "I'll save the rest for later".  Cute.

Until recently, I've always fed mine twice a day, but lately
I've been finding it harder and harder to feel ribs beneath
the fur, and Cendrillon is getting so round she almost looks
pregnant!  (She's NOT, unless cats can regrow their
equipment, and even then it would have to be a virgin birth.)

Of course, they always have dry food at hand, so are
certainly not starving, but I only give them moist food once
a day, now.  (If they don't like the one they're given, they
wail until tomorrow.)  They do LIKE Purina Cat Chow "Indoor
Cat" formula (maybe too much, although there's always some
left in the bowl at the next mealtime), but I hesitate to
change it since they have no access to the outdoors, here.

Uhhh.... that should have been "wait", not "wail" (although
both might sometimes be true)!
