Thursday (March 1), we will say good-bye to our grandbaby and his parents
and load Cinder and Rosie in a rented car to start our trip back to our
boat.  The people who purchased our furniture are taking the stuff away
today, so our apartment is almost empty.  The cat tree is still up, though.

Cinder is in the bedroom closet and Rosie is on top of the cabinet over the
toilet in the bathroom.    To top it off, we'll give them the dreaded
Revolution dose to be sure that they don't pick up any parasites from the
motel rooms.

I'm sure they could use some calming purrs.

We also are apprehensive because of the weather and hope we can avoid most
if not all the snow and ice.  We will stick to major highways, which should
help a lot.

We are thinking of taking I-90 out of Washington state to Buffalo, Wyoming.
Then I-25 to Cheyenne.  Then I-80 to Elm Creek, Neb.  Then Hwy 183 to Ellis,
Kansas.  Then Hwy 70 to vicinity of Salina.  Then I-135 to Wichita.  Then
south on Hwy 35 to San Antonio, TX and I-37 to Corpus Christi.

We think it will take us about a week to get that far.  We will stay a few
days in Corpus to take care of  things.  Then, we will head east, the
ultimate destination Myrtle Beach, S.C., where we will move back onto the
boat and resume our journey on the water.

Thanks, Marina.

With the current winter weather, we'll appreciate all the safe journey
purrs.

Regular updates will resume near the end of April.  We will be working on
the boat most of that month and also will attend a gathering of other
boaters taking the same journey before we get under way again.

Annie, wow, it's that time already? Good luck to you! I hope the four of
you have an easy journey. Do the girls have little sailor hats this time?

Have fun!

The captains consider sailor hats beneath them, but now, thanks to your
suggestion, want captains' hats, instead, as places to curl up and take
catnaps.

Would you like to stop in Austin for a cup of coffee or something? :)

We are planning to spend a night in Austin with a friend.  We'd love to meet
you if we can arrange it.  If  things go as planned, with no weather delays,
we expect to arrive in Austin the afternoon or evening of  Monday, March 5,
and will leave the next morning.

I'll email you with my cell number.

Woo Hoo!  Hope that Rob is out of purgatory and we are able to see you
when you reach our neck of the woods.  He remembers the boat and
meeting you, but doesn't remember when.  Sigh.  At least we've been
two days without a siezure, so far.  He's doped to the gills, of
course, but the longer we can go without a siezure, the better.  Just
sent an email to Senator Dole and hope that she can and will help us
out.  I'd already contacted Congresscritter Hayes a couple of years
ago, and am still going it alone.  Hope Libby is better on her toes.

Sending good trip thoughts and purrs.  Have more nip snakes for the
girls.  am making more nip snakes when I think of it and get around to
it.  Good luck on the trip and please keep us informed on how it all
goes.  Temps in the 50's and 60's here, should be reasonable by the
time you get here

Hug Jim and the girls for me please.

Pam,
It's good to hear that Rob is doing better.  I think you'll continue to see
improvement as his body adjusts to the trauma from the surgery. We are
honored to have been able to give you and Rob a break and Rob a chance to
talk helicopters with Jim.

The cats still enjoy the nip snakes you make them.  I took the liberty of
drawing on eyes on the snakes with a permanent marker.

We probably will be in Myrtle Beach until the last week in April.  We will
have some maintenance work to do on the boat from having left it for so
long.  Also, we are going (by rental car) to Charleston for about a week for
a rendezvous with other Loopers.

After that, we will head up the coast.  We have a long way to go at 7.5
miles an hour.

No, we will be taking the Hudson River to the N.Y. canal system, then across
Lake Ontario to Canada.
