Last evening, I was ensconced on the daybed, watching TV, and Stinky
jumped up beside me.  He climbed onto my chest, and said
rrrrRRRRrrRrrr!  rRrrrrrrRRRRRRrrrrrrr!  Rrrrrow!  This usually means
his dish is empty or getting that way.  So off we went to the kitchen
to replenish  the dishes.   Stinky supervised.

But when I was done and went back to the daybed to resume TV watching,
Stinky followed me.  He jumped back up on the daybed, climbed onto my
chest, purred, and bonked his head against my hands and face.   I
dispensed liberal pettins, and when he was satisfied, he repaired to
the kitchen to eat his crunchies. ;)

See? It's not ALways all about the food; a lot of times it's just the
touching.

Every so often when I'm watching something on TV or surfing the Internet
while sitting on the sofa,Ketzl stirs from his slumber and crawls onto my
chest. He buries his face into my right armpit, and nuzzles, purrs and
sometimes kneads for however long it takes to reassure himself he's still got
a home (I guess) then he goes back to his corner on the other end of the sofa
and goes back to sleep. Leaving me with a chest welling with love.

Aww, the sweetheart. Caliban has taken to climbing on my chest in the
morning when I'm still sleeping. It does wake me, but I'd rather wake to
his purring and kneading than the harsh sound of the alarm clock. He
times it very well, too, and wakes me about 15 minutes before the clock.

He knows that if he doesn't do this, that horrible racket will go off
and scare the wits out if him!

I'm always amazed at what a good sense of time cats have.

our owners know what Emily sounds like and are often waiting for us
when we get home.  One time we pulled up and there were cats at every
front window.
