Boyfriend got groomed

Now, Boyfriend was never a true feral because he had a collar on when he
came here, but somehow he lost his home and became very shy, but he is
getting much braver with me.

I thought I might try to groom him with my soft brush as he lay on my chair.
I wasn't sure how he might take it.

So I took the brush, and I told him nice things, while I stroked his fur
with the brush.  Oh, what a good boy you are, and doesn't this just feel so
great while I brush you so gently again and again?
He said it did feel great and he turned over to invite me to groom his
tummy, which I did, very gently.

BF is becoming a cat that I can now approach.  It's taken a while.
He is very special.
I wasn't a cat lover until Boyfriend came.  I love him to bits.

The only time I can actually hear Wilson purring, is when he's in bed half
of him spread across my body, and kneading his little claws into me

Just a reminder: It is absolutely NOT necessary to quote every single word
from the last posting(s) when you reply. Quote the essential phrases only.
Usually, people have read the previous posting before the get to your's...

What a sweetie!  Persia loves to be brushed, too.  All I have to do is say
"Brush?" and she looks and then jumps up in my lap.  Glad Boyfriend is happy
to be brushed!  I love the purrs... Persia drools! LOL

I really like the name Persia.  Or should it be Purrsia when she's being
brushed?
Boyfriend has only purred once and very quietly.  That might come later.

Or it could be that he just has a silent purr.  Rocky's purr was so
quiet that you usually had to feel him to feel the vibrations.

And he loves you. He let you groom his tummy. The ulterior test of trust
and love. ;o)

Really, is it?  Wow.  First he accompanies me in the middle of the night in
a storm to "help" me secure my poultry huts and now he lets me groom his
tummy!

Well, I never felt as tender about a cat before.  Mostly cats (other
peoples) were a bit of a nuisance after my chicks.
Kitty FC is something else. When she got to me she was already fierce, and I
understand why. Life was a bit of a struggle for her, since her owners got a
bad dog that bit her severely and she moved out of what she once thought was
her home.
So, Kitty earned her own living in the garden for ages while I still had my
dogs, although I have to admit that I put down a saucer of catfood every
night down by the chicken huts and when my dogs had all gone to RB she moved
in.
But, although I don't like to say it, she isn't a "nice" cat.  She is grumpy
and will slash me if I touch her when she doesn't want me to.  I never know
when it's right or wrong though.

I still have a long scar on my arm that she did a few weeks ago.  "Do NOT
try and brush me"
Thank Bast for Boyfriend.  He doesn't have a bad word in him, and I'm
absolutely sure he'd just run away before he would dream about scratching me
No, BF would never scratch a human, I just know it.  Kitty would. No qualms.
Slash and slash. Great!  Ouch!!! from me.

My Bandit is the same, and she *never* gives any warning of when she'll turn
on you and do bodily harm (I still have scars on my arms and legs from over
thirteen years ago along with others acquired over the 14 years of her
life).  I'll be petting her and she'll be purring up a storm with never even
a twitch of tail, ear, or back fur when she'll suddenly whip around and bite
my hand down to the bone.

I just figure she's a bit bi-polar and can't help it, and I just deal with
it by keeping lots of Neosporin and bandages handy.  And I love her just the
same (truth be told, she has a special place in my heart).  I really think
that whatever happened to her in her few short weeks of life before she ran
inside my house and claimed it for her own has scarred her permanently, and
when she starts drifting off to sleep she has nightmares of whatever scared
her so much she ran into a stranger's house and refused to go back outside.

It's certainly not that she doesn't like me.  She very obviously loves me
(and only me - nobody else can touch her, but I can give her "booga belly" -
putting my face in her belly, moving my head back and forth and murmuring
"booga, booga, booga" - LOL).  She comes when I call her to "huggers me" and
curls herself up against my chest where I hug her like a teddy bear when I'm
having trouble falling asleep.  And as long as any part of me is touching
any part of her, she's purring in contentment.

You're very special, Tweed, for loving and caring for KFC and getting
scratches for your efforts.  You're garnering mega good Karma points for it!

Those little breakthroughs can be so satisfying.  Congratulations!

Boyfriend sounds a lot like my Snoopy in temperement, I sometimes forget
how nervous she is with other people she's so loving towards me. :-)
