Nancy and the kitties and I are going to be very busy for several weeks,
so we aren't going to be able to post a whole lot for a while. Please
know that we are purring nonstop for Rob, and for both surgery patients,
and that I'm going to at least scan the newsgroup every few days to see
who needs purrs.

Nancy and I are in Iowa. I interviewed today with a company that looks
and sounds like an excellent place to work. We went to dinner tonight
with the guy that would be my boss, and he informed us that the company
*is* going to make me a job offer as soon as they jump through all the HR
hoops, and that the pay rate will be very close to what I'm earning now,
even though the living expenses out here are much lower.

The Highland Kitties and their humans are going to become Midwest kitties
and humans!

When I first saw the post describing this job, I knew it was the ideal
job for me. I was worried about being able to find a way to take the job
without leaving my mom and brother in the lurch when they needed my
support, but we've pretty well handled that issue. When the company
contacted me to set up an interview the same day I e-mailed them my
resume, I felt even more strongly that this was an ideal match. For the
first time I can recall, I felt perfectly at ease during the telephone
interview. When I was planning our trip out here for the in-
personinterviews I had the strong impression that this was the most
important job interview of my life (and I've had manydozens of them
berfore). When we got out hereto the Midwest and I did my face-to-face
interviews (with 6 people), I remained perfectly calm and relaxed.

I don't really know what this all means, but what I *do* know is that
everything seems to be moving smoothly and quickly.  Finally...

So to everybody who as been puring for this interview and the associated
issues - thanks! Once again, the purrs worked.

Dan,

I am so absolutely delighted for you!

We're sending more purrs for a smooth move and a good job for Nancy as
well, if she plans to look.

Congratulations, Dan!  I'm not sure how long you've lived in
Southern California, but are you SURE you're prepared for
the climate of the upper Midwest?  (Whether you believe Hell
is a place of unbearable heat or a frozen waste, you can
find plenty of both in Minnesota and Iowa!)

Dan,

I can't think of anyone who is more deserving of a wonderful break.  I hope
that the job is everything that you, Nancy and the kitties hope it will be.
We are purring like mad for it all to go smoothly.
