hi!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LENNIE!
Today marks 12 years with Lennie, which makes him (nominally) 14
(fourteen) years old!
I have reported before on this occasion.
Google found articles titled
"lennie is three" (responses, no original article?)
"lennie is five!"
"lennie is TEN!"
and
"Ten years with Lennie"
(which was two years ago, he was 12).
The short story is we are all doing very well. Lennie is up to 35 pills
a week which he takes without complaint. All traces of his hypertrophic
cardiomyopathy have disappeared, which baffles his cardiologist, but we
aren't arguing with that! The only other change is that it doesn't have
to be nearly so cold anymore before Lennie wants to crawl under the
covers. After 12 years I guess he is finally warming up to me!
Sadly in the two years since I last wrote he lost his grandmother (my
Mom, may she rest in peace) and his sister, the black cat, who just got
too old very quickly and surprised us all by making off to the Catnip
Patch in the Sky. She and Lennie never did get along too well, but I
think he misses fighting with her and of course I'd rather have her
around to keep him from fighting with. It is amazing how big an absence
a ten pound cat can make when she's not there.
I haven't had much time for rec.pets.cats lately. It is nice to see a
lively newsgroup full of cat fanatics and I recognize a few names from
the old days. I hope I can report again in a year or two or five.

According to the Cat Years table, 14 years equal 70 human years. He's now
an elderly cat. Happy Birthday Lennie! MLB
