Scare me into a heart attack

I got up from my chair in the office a minute ago and found my front door
standing wide open.  My first thought: Persia!

I called and yelled for her inside the apartment while I was grabbing my
coat, shoes, a flashlight.  She'd gone outside (did the little bugger open
the door?!).  She was around the corner of the apartment from my front door.
She came running when I called for her but damn, it's 39F degrees out there,
what does she want to do, freeze her butt off?  Shades of when I first got
her?  It's friggin cold outside, Persia!

She scared the crap out of me.  I thought I'd dead-bolt locked the door.
Can't believe she could have opened it.  Funny how my first thought was
about Persia, not about an intruder.

I had no idea she could open the door even if it wasn't locked.  Damn, cat,
don't do that to me!  I'm old enough to have a heart attack.

I'm so glad she didn't go far.

Me too.  I live on a very busy street corner; not a good place for cats to
run around loose.  And it's COLD outside!
