Today I caught Bear, the d*g, with his front paws up on the catfood
counter in the citchen and his long noble nose stretched out so that
he could eat the catfood. I yelled at him and he gave me a hurt look
and ran out of the kitchen into the living room. I went in to move the
cats' food farther from the edge of the counter and I heard him behind
me. When I turned around he offered me his tennis ball.

I think he's still upset because we met Olivia, some sort of miniature
terrier, on our walk and she attacked him. She didn't hurt him but he
is sure that everyone he meets will love him, so he was very hurt. Or
maybe he just figured I would trade him the catfood for his tennis
ball. But I didn't.

Aww.  Kayla doesn't do guilt.  But she does steal cat food if it is too near
the edge of the counter.

I figured out why out neighbors cat is trying to take over our yard, Border
Collie and all.  The neighbors parents are on vacation, so there are two
Jack Russell Terriers in residence instead of one.  At least Kayla doesn't
bark.

Labs are so loveable.

Of course, BCs don't do guilt. You have to do wrong to be guilty. To
err is human, to forgive divine. Neither is the policy of the Border
Collie.

They are lucky their cat is still in the same time zone. Olivia, the
dog that beats up poor Bear, is probably part Jack and part some kind
of toy fluffy thingy.

Bear is so nice. He really can't stand it when he meets someone who
doesn't love him. I will walk him in a few minutes and he will act as
if I have given him a knighthood and a steak sandwich.

bless his big innocent doggy heart, he probably offered you the ball
as a peace offering to say sorry for nicking the cat food, what a daft
sausage he must be. If I could have a dog I would love to have a lab,
they seem so faithful and loving, and big enough to hug too
