It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.
It is the quiet time of our morning. Charlie is still watching TV in the
bedroom. Jake isn't up yet. Molly went out and then came in for breakfast
and is currently in her bed next to the window into the back yard. Kayla
has been out and fed and played with and is also taking a nap.
And I'm watching a very large mostly black cat walking around the back yard.
He is a tuxedo but nearly all black. We have fifteen Italian Cypress trees
around the yard. He is going from tree to tree rubbing the side of his face
against the lower branches to mark the yard as "his" territory. At the rate
he's going his face will be completely raw.
And I don't think the birds or Kayla, or Jake and Molly are going to be all
that impressed by all his hard work.
I could let Kayla back out and give them both a little excitement and
exercise, but I just don't have the heart. He really thinks he's claiming
the whole yard.
(Kayla wouldn't hurt him.)

What would Jake do if he saw him? Poor tuxie, he obviously would like to
call your garden his home.

Jake is all show. He would try his best to pretend he didn't see him. He
won't attack Jake in our yard and Jake stays out of his. And he has a
perfectly good garden next door. He is just one of those guys that keeps
trying to claim more territory.
The good part is, I haven't seen much of the cats from down the street
lately. I think he's keeping them away. Its better when the cats that want
to fight stay in their own turf. Molly is such a sweet little girl the
boycats pretty much leave her alone. And she has a hiss fit if they don't.
