Hi All,

Lynda, my Dear Heart, has had a migraine for the last few days and
I've been trying my best to take care of her.  While I've been asleep
or busy though Lynda has never had to go without companionship.  Our
little Squidget has been stuck to her like glue, Lynda has only had to
reach out a hand to feel Squidget's furry, loving presence.

The others have been on and off the futon in the living room where
Lynda's been staying, but Squidget's barely gotten up to eat or visit
the litter box.  What a good little girl!

Regards and Purrs,
O J

It's amazing how responsive they are when you're not feeling well.
And how readily they take to nursing duties.

Either that, or they're just delighted that you're keeping the bed
warm all day. ;)

I just have to say how much I love the name Squidget!  Wonder if Carrie
would object to a name change?

I'll relay your sentiment to Squidget, she'll certainly be
pleased <G>. It's a contraction of "Squeaky Midget."

Such a good kitty-nurse. We'll start some migraine purrs heading your
way for Lynda

What a little sweetie Squidget!  They are, indeed, a comfort.  Purrs for
Lynda's hurting head...Lorna (& the Chesniks)

Thanks for the purrs and good thoughts. Lynda was very touched by them
when I told her.  She's back on her feet now (Damn! I make it sound
like a horse was sick).

Anyway, purr power seems to have helped.

Aw, we know what you mean.  I'm glad she's feeling better.  I've never
had a migraine, but I've had pretty bad headaches and know migraines are
a lot worse.  I wouldn't wish one on anybody.  Except maybe Osama Bin
Laden.

Actually, not all migraines are particularly painful.  According to my
doctor, there are three symptoms that can go along with a migraine- the
headache pain, the nausea, and the visual disturbance (the aura).  An
individual can have any one or any combination of the three (the worst
being the literally blinding headache that makes you throw up).  I get
*just* the aura.  No headache, no nausea.  Without the other symptoms,
the aura is actually kind of fun- pretty glittery lights, oscillating
colors.  A bit of a pain when it happens at an inconvenient time, since
I can't really see any kind of detail while it's going on ( get 20-30
minutes of warning before it hits so I can get to somewhere safe if I'm
driving), but I've taught class right through them more than once.  I
know my subject well enough that I don't have to look at my notes, so
my students usually don't even notice.  I usually get them in clusters-
no migraines for months or years, then several in a row.  Each episode
usually lasts about 45 minutes start to finish.
