Lucy's Mom - 11 Feb 2007 22:00 GMT
Please could we have some emergency purrs for my sis's kitty,
Jinxey....  Martha rushed her to the emergency vet last night, in
obvious pain and throwing up lots of bile.  Her heart rate was very
high, x-rays negative, blood work generally good except for an
elevated white cell count.  An endoscopy (sp?) this morning showed
nothing in her throat or stomach.  The vet didn't have a small enough
scope to go lower.  She is being transported to a specialist ASAP,
probably first thing tomorrow morning.  In the meantime, she is being
hydrated, medicated for pain and nasuea, given antibioitcs and is
staying at the vets.  Marty, and me too, are just sick with worry.
Marty said she couldn't believe how empty the apartment was.  It's so
hard to leave them...So if y'all can spare a purr or two for The
Jinx-ers and my sis, thanks....

I understand the feeling.  Hobo came home Friday after eight days at
the vet - it was so horrid without him here - especially since we were
worried about him the whole time.  All is well now - Hobo is home!!!

Many, many purrs for Jinxy from Hobo and all good wishes from me.

Oh that is awful!! Purrs heading your way that the vet finds the problem and
deals with it quickly, and Jinxey gets home safe and sound.

Purrs coming over the pond.  KFC is a very experienced loud purrer.
I can hear her from downstairs if she is purring upstairs.
She sends her big purrs for Jinxey.

Oh, no - loud purrs from Licky and constant purrs from Smudge! (Roxy
needs her purrs for herself right now, but she does offer empathy to
another sick kitty.)

Please keep us updated.

Purrs on the way for Jinxey.

I'm hoping the elevated WBC is due to an easily treated bacterial
infection....
