So I'm sitting at my desk, talking on the phone and playing a hand of
solitaire. Shane, one of the two youngest, a pretty 9 month old
silver-blue, long-haired, SOFT-haired, tufty boy, hops up to the desk
surface and starts checking out potential toys.

No, you can't play with the headset cord.
No, leave the USB cable alone.

Aha! he says to himself. And waltzes over to the square tissue box
sitting in front of my laptop. Leans over it, grabs a tissue in his
teeth and pulls it out just like any ol' human might, and LEAPS off the
desk with the kleenex in his mouth like a prize!

I almost fell off the chair laughing and the poor person on the other
end of the phone (who was trying to tell me something very sad and
serious and emotionally wrenching) thought I'd gone bonkers.

I have never seen a cat do that before. I WISH I had the digital camera
in my hands when he did it.

Of course, now he's cuddled up on his "shelf" (my, er, frontal
expressions) upside down, purring and patting my nose with his paw.

Dunzi does that as well! But her big love is shredding the tissues in the box.
Recently I came in to find a box of shredded tissues on the sofa

But the box had originally been up by the computer on the desk

She had managed to lift the whole box off the desk and carry it (and it was a
full box and she hadn't dropped any) to the sofa where she'd shredded it.

Perhaps she wanted to do it in comfort....

Ooo oh!  You've got a shredder!  Soon she'll discover the rolls in the bathroom
and god help you if she finds where you keep unused TP rolls.

I once had a 30 pack of TP in an unused BR closet and made the mistake of
leaving the door open about an inch and a half.  I came home to discover about a
third of it pulled out and left in a mountain of shredded TP.  She discovered
that she could reach in and pull out shreds of TP and appearently spent the
entire day I was away at work working on her project.

One day while I was at work, Miranda had opened the cabinet under the
sink, where I kept my rolls of kitchen paper. I came home from work to
find this:

Oh man that still just cracks me up.

I wish I'd had a camera back when I came home one day to find the catnip
carnage. Pearl was *coated* in nip and it was ALL over the kitchen. She'd
found the "stash", opened a drawer and ripped it apart (apparently with
enough force to spread it pretty much all over the kitchen, and then rolled
in it. It was hilarious.

That is too funny!  I can just picture it.

Now would someone explain to me why in the world Jack has decided that
plastic forks are the world's greatest cat toy????
