Thank you all for being so patient and supportive while I was worried
sick about Frank. Of course, as it turns out, there was nothing to worry
about, really.
Frank is still acting strange. I think it's because he has something
sticking to under his tail, near his bum. It doesn't smell, so he hasn't
soiled himself. That's not it. I don't know what TED has smeared on him,
but it's making him very uncomfortable, and neither he nor I can get it
off. He lets me pick at it a little, but then he walks away. It's kind
of sticky and has matted the fur, but no smell that I can detect, and I
usually have a pretty good sense of smell. I'm going to ask my sister if
she can come over and hold him while I cut away the soiled fur mats. He
will probably not speak to me for days if I do that, but anything to
make my baby feel better. I'm thinking of getting one of those hobby
scissors for children, with sharp cutting edges but blunt ends so I
don't hurt him.

oh poor Franki. We will purr and pray that he starts feeling comfortable
soon. He's been in so much stress lately. Please give him lots of hugs,
skritches and kisses from us.

hmmm, I have no idea what that could be, either. Purrs that you can
get it off without upsetting him, and that he'll be back in full voice
serenafing you from the top of the book case soon (one of my favorite
pic).

We got the gunk off. I still can't make out what in the world it is. It
has no smell. Frank is back to his old self. He's clamoring for
breakfast right now (it's nearly 7 in the morning here). He woke me up
at 5.40 when he was digging to New Zealand in his litterbox. Then he
came into bed and headbutted me and purred, like he always does. The
only difference is, Nikki hasn't slept in bed at night since Frank got
home. :o( I don't know why. She does sleep there in the day, and
together with Frank to boot. But not at night.
And oh yes. Frank has his voice back! Does he ever!
