Sounds like he's a self-entertaining unit. :)

I love "When Cats Go Mad!" (film at 11). Flaring pupils, ears back, mad
dashes. And what is it about bedtime that excites them so? Every time I start
putting out the lights Ketzl winds up for a few chases in the dark. Of
course, he has the advantage when the lights are out (as well as when they're
on, for that matter, but more when they're out) and even just the sound of
him galloping across the floor in pursuit as I round the corner to the
bedroom makes me both jump and laugh. Then, of course, I have to chase him
back into the darkened living room... and then repeat. This goes on for a
while until I give up.

He's tiring you out so you'll sleep better. :)

Around here we call this behavior "the zoomies". My cats get it too,
especially Roxy.

The "zoomies"! I like it.

He may be tiring me out, but he's on an inverse path, and sometimes I
continue to hear him "zooming" (and trying to climb the door jambs on
occasion) after I've gone to bed and am about to drift off.

My fault for getting him all excited, I guess. No harm, though. It's great
fun.

I've heard it called Kitty-Lympics.

Hehehe. I hear Caliban's claws going skr-skr-skr against the laminate
every time Miranda startles him (she does it on purpose).

You could always put a carpet down until he's a bit older.  It wouldn't stop
the THUMP, but the sksh sksh sksh wouldn't happen and Dante would probably
stop doing it.
Unless - maybe - you like it ;-)

Oh, I definitely read her message as saying that she found it amusing.
But even more importantly, Dante apparently finds it amusing, and it's
always good to have a cat who can entertain himself. Especially if the
Big Dood isn't in the mood for kitten foolishness. And a kitten needs his
exercise!
