Thanks so much for the welcome to the group. I was on once before for a hot
minute - Marina may remember as we both have cats named Nikki. Contrary to
the saying "No man can serve two masters", I sure do. Chessie is an
11-year-old Tonkinese - very loving, contrary, demanding, outspoken, etc.
Nikki is a 10-year-old sable Burmese built like a tank and just as pushy!
After the world's perfect kitty (half Siamese, half alley) went to RB, I was
looking for a lively, intelligent furbaby. Got more cat than I needed -
Chessie was so demanding of my time/attention that after a year, I decided
to find a companion for her. Not exactly a mistake, but each would rather
be an "only" cat - tho they do snooze together and thunder back and forth
playing chase (how can kitty paws make so much noise on carpet??)
Again, thanks for the welcome........Lorna & the Chesniks

Ooh, yes, now I remember. Would you believe it, my Nikki is already 16
years old? Scritches to your Nikki, and to Chessie, too, of course.

Welcome Lorna, I am a Burmese breeder and have bred Tonkinese in the past,
so I know all about lively and intelligent plus the thundering feet.
I have 9 kittens in the house, two litters one aged 7 weeks and the other 9
weeks today and to hear them chasing one another around you would think I
had a herd of elephants roaming the house!!!

Burmese are like potato chips, you can't just have one.

Again, welcome ;-)) As a long time lurker you probably know most of
us, and we're happy you decided to introduce you and your kitties.
Sounds like you might have a couple a very vocal girls (mine are
normally quiet, only a couple meows a day).
As for how two cats can make such a racket sahsing on carpet - lots of
practice certainly helps, (best practice time here seems to be between
3 and 4 AM)

Welcome Lorna, I live in England and have two kitties. Kitty Farmcat (18 or
so) and Boyfriend (2ish)
I lurked for only a few days. This is definitely the group for me.
