Well, for the big 4-0, all the various members of my family kicked in a
little bit and then I got it during a double rebate promo on the camera and
lense combo - shopped around a lot and did excellent bargain hunting, I must
say!  It's been scads of fun experimenting and getting familiar with all the
controls.  The kids and cats are willing models.

I'm saving up for a nice telephoto though so that I can do birds.  I spend
so much time creeping around in bushes with my binoculars and have seen such
great things (yellow warbler feeding even smaller baby warbler) that I can't
wait to capture some of them on camera.  The telephotos are a *leetle* bit
expensive though :-(
