Truly heartwarming.
Isn't it wonderful how Mir takes full advantage of the soft fluffiness of
Cal's tummy :)

A fluffiness caused by excessive devotion to guarding Hoolikitten Chapter
'05's emergency rations store, no doubt.

Message to Cal from Purresident Clawdius: "Guarding foodies by keeping it
safely stored in your tummy isn't exactly what's required, Treaspurrer
Caliban, since the rest of us don't want the food at second hand - so kindly
protect it intact, not intummy."

Caliban was sleeping when I went to tell him he'd been reprimanded by
the Purresident. He didn't even open his eyes, but he lifted his head,
stretched out his neck and touched noses with me, then went back to
sleep. I guess he told his secretary (me) to handle it. Claudius, I
don't know what to say. He eats me out of house and home, but that
doesn't mean he's not eating the treasury of the HK Chapter '05, as
well. I think you will have to device some sort of sanctions.

I feel the same. Wish Sugar and Pearl liked each other this much.

I wish Dante and Stinky would, too.  In the beginning, it was that
Stinky just rejected Dante being around.  But Stinky is a complete
gentlecat.  Now that Dante is a big boy, he's all gangsta and
obnoxious to Stinky.  The odd thing is that they spend a lot of time
together.  They don't cuddle like Mir and Cali (eeek, they are SO
cute!), but they stay near each other and bug each other like two
little kids.  "Maaaaaaaa!  He's touching me!"

They really do seem to like each other.
I want to hug them!

How are you doing, Elisabet? Thinking about getting a couple of huggable
kitties any time soon? I know no one can take Hugo's place, but it
really helps to have a cat or two around... Though sometimes it's the
opposite. I have a purring and affectionate Caliban in my lap and it
just makes me miss the connection I had with Frank all the more. But
mostly they are a great comfort.

These photos remind me of that quote, "Even the smallest feline is a
masterpiece" -- attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. I have no idea whether
he actually said this, but regardless of who said it, I agree.

I want to kiss the top of Mir's head, especially in the final shot!

I'd love to kiss her all the time, but unfortunately, she doesn't like
to be kissed. She's learned to tolerate it, but in the beginning she
looked at me with this utterly disgusted look on her face. :P Luckily,
Caliban enjoys kissing, and often kisses me back. He even loves having
that big fluffy tummy kissed, so I get my daily dose of kitty kissing
from him.

Heh, he's very very cute, but also very very annoying at times. His
latest thing is opening a kitchen cabinet, climbing inside and tipping
over all the food packages on the second shelf. When I hear him pawing
at the door, I yell 'CaliBAN!' but he doesn't react. Then I get up and
walk menacingly towards him, and he falls over, shows me his tummy and
looks at me with those saucer eyes. How can I be mad at him? I go back
to what I was doing, and two seconds later I hear him pawing at that
cabinet door again. AUGH! He drives me crazy, but he's also so adorable.

Same deal with Dante  (yes, I know, I need to get some new pics of
him.  I'm so lazy these days).  He's such a *physical* little
monster-- he's always flinging himself all over the place.  He has
such a hilarious little face, he gets away with murder.

What a nice set of pics! Mir looks SO petite next to Caliban. They look
so comfy together!

I seem to recall you saying once that Caliban wasn't a big cat, but Mir
is quite small. About how much do they weigh?

They do enjoy sleeping together, mostly.

Last time Mir was weighed, she was 3.2 kilos (about 7 pounds) and
Caliban was 5.4 kilos (about 12 pounds). Caliban probably weighs more
now, but I think Miranda has remained about the same.

Really cute.  Nobody around here gets along that well with anybody.

You are getting good with the new camera too.

I think the secret is that they were brought together at a fairly young age.

Thank you! That was taken with the Indoor mode. I still haven't tried
the Kids and Pets mode - that will probably have to wait until we're on
the island next summer.
