and maybe a bug sacrifice or two if your owners will be so kind.

I have a good friend who has a hearing in court on Friday 8am MST.  He's
been having a really tough time and we are hoping the judge will rule in his
favor.  I have been spending a lot of my spare time gathering documents and
contacting all parties to try to make this happen for him. I can't get ahold
of his lawyer for some reason and it's darn frustrating.  I just want it all
to go smoothly--he really deserves a break.

Anyway, whatever you can spare.

Purrs on the way.  I don't like the words "in court" since I still remember
my divorce court and subsequent prosecution of my ex-husband at a time when
there were no "stalking laws" on the books in TN, which is what he was
doing.  Going to court for whatever reason is never fun.

Ok, we went to court.  You may as well know that the state of wanted to put
one of my workers at the shop into prison for 10 years.  The violation was
minor, the wrath of the state was not.  Kind of like dropping the bomb on
Hawii.  Anyway after some legal wrangling and a speech from me, the judge
decided to give him another chance and 30 days in jail.  Big sigh of relief.

He screwed up once a few years ago, and made some unwise choices since then.
He did not hurt anyone, and the sentence they wanted to impose on him was
way too much for what the situation called for IMHO.  I also needed him at
work, not sitting in a jail cell feeling sorry for himself.

Thanks everyone for your support.

I'm glad it went well Hazel. Best wishes to your friend, and I hope he can
put all this behind him with a sense of relief that it's over, paid for, not
an issue any more, and move on with his life to a brighter furture. And good
on you for sticking up for him.
