Sabrina sometimes pops off with stuff that is amazing.
Richard, the dork who previously had her, was a hardcore SF-Fantasy fan who
spent most of his time and money on gaming stuff, and watched a lot of Star
Trek; specifically, Next Generation. Now, don't ever let anyone tell you that
a cat has the attention span or memory of the average housefly; we've had
Sabrina about six months, and when Louie was alone with her yesterday and
spent a couple of minutes on a Next-Gen program, her fur stood up straight
and she started growling and hissing at the TV. I don't want to know what was
going on in her former home while the program was on, but it must not have
been pleasant.
In contrast, we've learned that she likes comedies in general, and The Nanny
in particular. Sabrina likes the sound of laughing, and when Louie and I have
comedy tapes going she'll come out of her little hiding spot near the bedroom
heating vent, hop up on the bed and purr, meow loudly if it's The Nanny, and
take turns cuddling up to us both. Louie figures she's learned to associate
The Nanny with us coming home, relaxing, giving Sabrina pet-the-kitty time,
and laughing instead of b**ching like Richard and his girlfriend. If one of
the other cats tries coming in though, she will get frightened and mutter
profanities at them; she hasn't quite gotten that she's okay yet. And she
loves bright and happy music, so we've dug out all of Louie's old Monkees
recordings; we've discovered they're her favorite group! She's the littlest
of the cats, so I wonder if the littlest Monkee--Davy--is her favorite?
Blessed be,
Baha

Good kittie. Star Wars is much better isn't it? ;)
Smokey was on my lap poking while I watched Space: Above and Beyond
this afternoon.
All four have a bizarre love for the "Catwoman" movie.
