I have a two year old who visits with some regularity lately. When he
gets here, he immediately drops all his coveted cars in the middle of
the floor and drags out the cat toys. He is especially fond of the ones
that are balls that go in circles and sticks with strings with things on
them. He sometimes tries to play with the cats (they don't leave the
room when he comes in) but mostly he just plays with their toys. It is
hysterical to watch because I don't think the cats have enjoyed the toys
that much in years.
It is nice to know I have what it takes to entertain a toddler for a
couple of hours. Didn't even have to interact with him - just watched to
make sure he stayed safe and didn't eat cat food (that stuff is
expensive ;))

All cat toys here became property of the toddler, at least for a
little while. To be fair, a certain number of easily-battable kid toys
have become cat toys as well. That's not to say that the Toddler (now
Pre-Schooler) shared willingly, and she still gets mad when the cats
pounce on something being dragged.
