Today is the one year anniversary of losing my cat Scooter. Scooter was a very special cat and I miss him more each day. Please keep a special thought for Scooter today. This coming March 26 will mark the third anniversary of Isadora's trip across the bridge, and April sixth will be the first anniversary of Panther's departure. So I totally understand your sadness today. I'm sure many people here do, also. Just a thought, if you are without a current cat friend, a new whiskery face can be a great anodyne for the pain of losing a beloved companion! Every cat becomes special in their own way. Melissa Thanks, Melissa. I do have other "cat friends." I have Wally....and after Scooter's passing, I adopted Ernie. They are wonderful but I always hold a special place in my heart for Scooter. Funny you should mention rabbits.....even though Scooter was an indoor cat, I occasionally let him outside in the yard. Once, he caught a baby rabbit. Brown recluse spider got him, instead of the cougars, coyotes, bobcats and dogs who he could dodge like a Ninja. I called him Max. I live next to a huge military reservation. Max came from the woods nearby. He was feral and lived with me by his choice, after growing to adulthood in the wild, for 5 years. Here's a thought I know is true: You haven't been loved 'til you've been loved by a cat. Cheers. H.
