I know this is short notice, but I just found out myself! Nancy has an
interview in 2 hours (4 PM Pacific time) with the publisher of the
newspaper she works for. If all goes well she could end up the editor of
the paper. Purrs would be appreciated!

This is much too late for the interview, but we are sending purrs to
make the publisher decide to choose Nancy.

Hoping and purring that this works out for her. At least that's one
job you can't outsource.

Nancy's interview seemed to go okay, but things appear to be headed
downhill. THere is one employee of the paper who's primary job skill
seems to be kissing up to the editor and irritating everybody else at
the paper. It is now looking like this nitwit might end up getting the
editor position. What makes this especially bad is that Nancy is the
only person at the paper who stands up to him when he suggests stupid
things at staff meetings, and that hasn't earned her any points with him.
So, for now, continuing purrs would be appreciated.

I hope management will make the right decision. That sort of problem
often cropped up in the Army, were being a politcally correct brown
nose often got incompetent people put in charge.

Purrs still coming - that management will see past the brown-nose and
promote by ability, and if that doesn't work, that something better will
come along quickly.

So sorry to rad about the office politicking going on. That klind of
thing is a drag, and very frustrating as you can't do much about it but
swallow it or leave. Many purrs coming over that the publisher sees
beyonf the sucking-up and chooses Nancy.

I think I used to work with that person :-)
Purrs for Nancy. I worked at newspapers my entire life, and one thing I learned
was that many editors have giant egos and love someone who'll stroke that ego.
Nancy sounds much more competent and deserving.
