That you have a cat? :)
If that's all you have to explain, you're lucky! My house is strewn
with milk-jug caps, twistie ties, old shoelaces tied to old levelor blind
rods, aluminum foil balls. Basically it looks like I just throw my trash
on the floor. :) There are a few bona-fide cat toys (multi-colored foam
ball, fur mousies), which lend a tiny bit of respectability to the mess.

One of my cats - my boy, Licky - also loves to carry objects from one
place to another. I find the weirdest things in the weirdest places. My
favorite (most of you have heard this story - this is for Ketzl's Dad's
benefit) was when I put a bunch of unripe cherry tomatoes into a bowl
and left it on the kitchen windowsill to ripen. Licky must have found
that bowl and thought, "Cool! Little balls!" I was finding tomatoes all
over the house for about a week. One time when I sat down at my computer,
I felt something cold on my butt. Stood up - and found a squashed tomato
on the chair.

That reminds me: If ever anyone sees a litter box in your place and
asks if you have a cat, you can say, "No, that's for guests."

Well, it's not all, although I've narrowed down the junk-yard look
somewhat. Gone, for example, is the cardboard box big enough for him to
lounge in that he appropriated a couple of Christmases ago. It ended up
getting decorated and customized: I drew roof shingles on the top flap,
cut out a window in the side and drew shingles (it was a Palladian
window; nothing too classy for the K-man) and of course I padded the
interior. It came to be known as "Ketzl's Studio Apartment."
As for the rest, there are still multiple ribbons, strings, plastic
gallon-jug bottle-top rings, balls of wadded crinkly paper, etc.
everywhere.

LOL! Ketzl won't go near any human food, even to play with it, but I
did have a dog once (sorry if that offends anyone's cat-sensitivity: I
love them, too) who used to steal and eat ripe tomatoes from my garden
when I had one. ONLY the ripe ones. But Ketzl does carry his toys with
him from tiime to time from place to place.

Ming will carry his mylar puffballs all over the house. I'll fish them
out from under the couch and put them in a basket in the hall... Ming
will take them out one by one and deposit them in various places.
Nosey (RB) used to go into the boy's bedroom in the middle of the night
and bring out the LEGO men- none of the other pieces, only the little
men, and leave them all over the house. I couldn't figure out why the
boys were leaving them all over until one night I picked them up and
put them all away after they had gone to bed. I couldn't sleep, so I
got of for a glass of water and stepped on one in the kitchen. When I
turned the light on, Nosey was just coming around the corner from the
hall with another one in her mouth.

Oh man. How funny! We once had a cat named Nosey. A grey and white. She
was a pregnant stray we found. She had her kittens and when they were
weaned we put an ad for them in th paper. A man and his son came to
look at them but he wanted Nosey! My dad was home alone and thinking
that we had not intended to keep her, allowed the man and boy to take
her instead of a kitten. Oh my, the tears in the house that night. I
mean I don't think we had her over 2 months, but all we kids thought
that she was going to be ours. I feel bad in retrospect because I think
my dad felt terrible over the whole thing. I hadn't thought of that in
years!
