jmcquown - 15 Jan 2007 16:13 GMT Well, everyone used to boop the Hube... Persia has a boop spot, too! Just behind her left front leg, makes her squeak :) So I boop her regularly, the silly gal! And she purrs and rubs her head against me and is generally just a sweet cat. Boop your cat today!

Hube was probably a nickname for a cat. Use caution! Some cats look askance at being booped and will grab the hand and kill it. Best wishes. MLB

Hube was so boopable that some of us used to send him cyber-boops. ;)

You just point your finger at your kitty's tummy, and poke, ever so gently, while saying "boop".
Hube is one of Magic's kitties, short for Hubert, I think. The original booper and boopee.

Joyce - who can't seem to type the word "boop" properly.
jXwXeXrXmXoXnXt@sonic.net - 16 Jan 2007 22:56 GMT I just noticed something weird.
Earlier, in the "Booping Persia" thread, I had written:

The original > booper and boopee. Magic posted to correct me, that Hube was not her kitty at all. Here is her post quoting me (with my emphasis on the oddness):
>> Don't worry, it's not some bizarre Yank ritual. :) I believe *bopping* >> is an international phenomenon. [quoted text clipped - 4 lines] >> Huber is one of Magic's kitties, short for Hubert, I think. The >> original *blooper* and boopee. Isn't that weird? Everywhere I wrote "boop", it was spelled differently in Magic's post. Boop became bop, booping became bopping, booper became blooper. How on earth did that happen?? I've heard of strange things happening to posts, but in this one, the strangeness was so selective. Is there a boop filter somewhere?? Theories, anyone?

(My browser spell-check has to be instructed to check, and of course Word simply calls my attention with a red underline, which I can ignore if that IS the spelling I meant to use.)

Theories, anyone? Might it have something to do with the language setting on the browser? Some of the posts I read on Newsgroups show strange symbols on my screen. (I've always assumed they had something to do with the way my software interprets foreign language accent marks.) Usually, when I reply to one of them, I get a warning message that some of the symbols are not in my computer's language set, but my replies seem to go through all rignt.
Marina - 16 Jan 2007 04:25 GMT > Hube is one of Magic's kitties, short for Hubert, I think. The original > booper and boopee. Hubert is Krista's cat, whom she took in with his mother Tallulah, when Hube was very young. Last I heard from her, she was preparing to take in another stray. Unfortunately, she is too busy to participate in rpoca any more. I miss her a lot.

jmcquown - 16 Jan 2007 02:44 GMT > Well I would if I knew what a boop or a Hube is! Hube is short for a cat named Hubert and booping is where you poke your finger in a cat's fluffy belly or other soft spot and say "Boop!" Just something silly to do.
I have a friend who vacuums her cat. Her cat likes it! Most cats I know are afraid of the big sucky monster! Her cat also likes to wear Mardi Gras beads. Methinks her cat is stranger than most.
