I've been looking through google groups at some old posts I made about
Sesame. Here is one I had forgotten about.

Sesame is an old girl these days, she's heading towards 19, so she doesn't
have a whole lot of stories. But she's one of those cats that I'll always
know as being the most special, just because she is.
I love how she'll come running when I go outside and call her, even if just
to rub up against my legs a couple of times and then head back for some
sleep under her favourite bush.
I love how she'll stretch out completely on my chest when I'm watching tv
and let me play with her toes, something she never let me do when we both
were younger!
I love how the lawn outside has some kind of special smell or atmosphere, it
brings out the kitten in her when she sets foot on it!
I love how her little tummy swings back and forth when she runs.
I love how she does what my brother calls "drive by toodys" (toodys, puddys,
pussy) when she wants cuddles - she'll walk past several times having a look
at how the lap situation would benefit her at present. Usually by the fourth
walk by the sofa inhabitant is cat ready.
I love how shes just there - her presence is such a comfort.
I mostly love the complete trust in her humans.
Kathryn - who hopes that Sesame has a few years left in her! And is keeping
fingers crossed for a job interview to come her way today!
I remember going for that interview. I got the job... and I remember sitting
here at this computer waiting nervously for my phone to ring. Sesame would
have been close by. I worked a lot of early shifts at that job, and Sesame
was such a delight first thing in the morning when she wanted attention and
breakfast.

Just think, you got 3 more years with her after that. It is a perfect memorial.

What a nice story!
Sesame was truly a Most Wonderful Cat, and I'm glad that her time with
you was as long as it was; even if it doesn't seem now to be nearly long
enough....

It's never long enough, is it? Why don't we take it on board that we will
outlive our beloveds and prepare our minds for it?
We just don't. And it destroys us every time it happens.

We try but our hearts have their own ideas about it and I am fine with
that. If we did not have grief what kind of beings would that make us?
No matter the years I still miss every one of my furry pals from the
past. There are even those times I think, for just one moment, one or
another of them might appear just around the corner. Then I return to
the present. Is there a moment of hurt in there? Sure but it is worth
it.

I still haven't quite recovered from losing my Pollyanna (d*g) many years
ago. She was my soulmate.
Where she was, so was I. On holiday together in top hotels in Wales. Who
always said "Polly can come back, anytime."
She always remembered any hotel she stayed at in Llandudno
She would guide me towards any hotel I ever stayed in there. "Is this the
one you want?"

This was a charming post about Sesame - well worth reposting. I remember
how I wanted to grasp and hold on to those memories when Frank and Nikki
passed away. I often go back and read old posts about them, and look at
all their pictures. I had a very vivid dream about Nikki last night. I
don't remember hat happened in the dream, but I felt happy when I woke
up. I'm so glad they visit me in my dreams. I hope in time Sesame will
come and visit you, too.

She was a little charmer. You described everything I think make our
furry companions so special, beyond anything else in our lives.
