Job Purrs Please

I could really use some job purrs right now.

In my continuing saga to find new employment (got outsourced in April,
nobody is hiring for anything (and I've been looking in 3 different
metro areas in 3 different states + various other places)), I've got a
good lead on a 6 month contract job in the area, a job that I'm
actually qualified for, a job that they just started looking to fill
today but starts on MONDAY.

It's not permanent, but it's something and my unemployment benefits
run out in 3 weeks. If nothing comes up, Natasha and I have to move
out of my apartment by mid-December.

Anyway, please send a few spare purrs not going in the direction of
Rocky and Antonio and everyone else in need over this way. They'd be
greatly appreciated!

Jeanne Hedge, as directed by Natasha

Job purrs coming your way, Jeanne.

I know exactly what you're going through - I was out of work for 4 months at
the beginning of the year and had to take a temporary job at half my usual
pay.  The good news is that they liked my work and made me permanent, the
bad news is I have to do all the duties of my new job, all the duties of my
*old* job, and I'm *still* getting half the pay - sigh.  Oh well, beggars
can't be choosers and at least it's income.

Again, powerful job-finding purrs coming your way.

Hugs,

CatNipped

The furkids have directed some purrs your way, too.  Hopefully you'll
find the perfect job soon.  (Sometimes temporary jobs end up being
permanent.)

Ack, don't you just hate it when things like that happen. Actually I
ran into something similar last month. I've been thinking of getting a
4 season job for a while instead of relying on landscaping - which for
this part of the world is more often than not 8 months out of the
year. Living next door to an army post, I checked for job openings,
which I found I could do online. I found an opening for a pharmacy
tech. After 20 years in the Army as a Pharmacy tech, I figured I could
probably handle that job. The online site also said that there's an
office here on post where you can go get informaton (they even offer
to help you fill out the application and write a resume).

This was on Sunday, so Monday I go to the office. I find out it's only
open Tuesday and Thursday. I was busy Tuesday, but was there bright
and early Thursday. I found out that the cutoff date for
application/resume was the next Tuesday. OK, not much time, but I
figured I could handle it. Then I learn the office that paperwork had
to be delivered to was not on the post in SW Oklahoma, but in Kansas.
I asked about emailing the paperwork, or maybe getting an extension.
No-go the paperwork had to be in Kansas. About that time I was
starting to remember some of the reasons why I was ready to retire,
and started asking if I really wanted to go back to work for the Army.

Always happy to send purrs to anyone in need. So we'll get some
employment purrs headed your way.

And, speaking of need, it certainly seems an awful lot of purrs have
been needed here this month - First Sammy with her heart murmur scare,
and now with Rocky. I hope LB doesn't read this and decide she's been
left out ;-)
