It came in a BIG box with lots of colors on it. We all took turns
inspecting it.
Then Meowmie opened the box and took out a bunch of things and put them
together. She then took away one of our old litter boxes away and put
this THING in its place.
It's very very WEIRD!!!!! It's got litter in it, but there's this rake
thingy and a ramp too.
Imp was inspecting it very very closely, when suddenly a little light
came on. He bapped at it, but it wouldn't go away. Then we were all
crowded around it when it made a LOUD noise. It started whirring and
grinding and this big rake thingy swept across the litter and into a
compartment.
What on EARTH is this THING? Are we supposed to use this noisy thing??
Mischief, Mayhem and Imp
I got myself the LitterMaid Elite Mega litterbox in the mail today and
brought it home. The cats are VERY very curious but at the same time
have no idea what to make of it. I put Mischief in it and she sniffed
every inch of it. Of course by leaving she tripped the sensor and 10
minutes later it started WHIRRING. Imp and Mischief stopped and crept
over very sloooooowly to investigate.
Later on, Imp was investigating it and upon setting foot inside it he
tripped the sensor again and the light that controlled the ionic fiter
came on. The light startled him a bit cause he started bapping at it.
Of course he grew bored and then left, but then perked up when it
started whirring again.
It's quite amusing to watch them investigate it. I certainly hope they
use it. I think i'll leave the switch off to prevent them from
tripping the switch. I'm afraid if it triggers too often it'll make
too much noise and scare them away.
They have their other littler boxes in the bathroom but they are quite
curious as to this new THING.
Wish me luck.
Will try to upload pics of them investigating it later.

we went through this, I got mine because TV MUST have pristine litter, OR
ELSE!!! put it along side the other boxes and leave it off until you have
seen all of them use it at least twice, then put it on, they will get used
to it if you are patient, and the smell is so much less. My DF who's
husband just passed away in may bought herself one, she cracked up, her cat,
Piglets, would go in and set it off on purpose then come running to watch it
clean, at one point DF walked by the laundry room and there is her cat on
the ramp and her huge Sheppard waiting to watch it go, a total crack up...
and BTW, her cat is so cross eyed she was worried about her being able to
use it, and she did just fine...

As promised, here's a picture blow by blow of when the new little box
came home.
We were minding our own business, when Meowmie brought home a big BOX!!

We had no idea what it was, and we took turns investigating it.

Then Meowmie opened up the box and took out all these big plastic
things. She put them together and then took away one of our old
littler boxes and put THIS in its place.

We didn't know what to make of it, but then Meowmie fed us dinner.

Imp wanted to closely inspect it, cause he said he had read on the
internet of a demon that was trapped in a strange box like this.

Finally after a few hours, I had to go and Meowmie hadn't cleaned out
the other litter boxes. So i used the new one, but unfortunately
Meowmie had the camera.

Seemed fine to me, nothing fancy. Then later on I was having a wash
when suddenly the box started WHIRRING!!!
It made this horrible grinding noise and this strange rake moved across
the litter box. Imp and I went to investigate.

When the noise suddenly stopped, we checked the litter box and my
covertly covered business was GONE!!!!

Any other cats out there ever meet this strange device?
Mischief
Hoomin note: The kitties are using it a little more often, but they
all perk up and go invstigate when it starts whirring.

The pictures are hilarious!
I don't know if I'd ever invest in one of these. Tyche and Kumani both
freak out when they hear something like a hair dryer, paper shredder or
carpet cleaner running. They start attacking random nearby objects
which they apparently "blame" For the noise. Banana clips are a
favourite scapegoat.
